Volunteer Opportunity: King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) Hosts Private Dinner at the United Nations for ADISCO
Thursday, November 19, 2015, 6pm-9pm at the United Nations
Background: KBFUS is an independent public charity that facilitates giving to Europe and Africa. Its parent foundation, King Baudouin Foundation in Brussels, Belgium, is a leading nonprofit foundation in Europe. Every two years, it awards the King Baudouin African Development Prize to reward outstanding contributions to development in Africa. This year’s recipient is ADISCO, a nonprofit based in Burundi, for its work stimulating entrepreneurship and strengthening the self-confidence and financial autonomy among hillside communities.
Role: KBFUS seeks 10 volunteers to be the first point of contact for guests. Leaders in government, philanthropy and the business community of New York City who have interest and work in Africa will attend the dinner. Volunteer roles include registering guests, acting as guides from the security checkpoint to the event venue, and providing table and seat assignments. After the program begins, volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy dinner with guests.
This is a great opportunity to network with philanthropic and business leaders in New York City, and learn about the work of civil society organizations in Africa. Contact: To learn more about this event or to volunteer, contact Hafeeza Rashed at [email protected] or call (212) 713-7663 by Friday, October 30, 2015.
