Student Summer Spotlight: Seneca Forch (SIPA ’26)

August 12, 2025

🌍 7 Months Across the Continent 🌍

This summer, Seneca Forch (SIPA '26) is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as a fellow of the Institute of International Education’s NextGen Service Fellowship, working with the New Bright Community Development Center—a grassroots NGO empowering youth through tech, arts, and literacy. His work supports NBCDC’s campaign to build computer labs in under-resourced schools by developing tools to assess how classroom technology impacts student learning and community capacity.

Beyond the classroom, Seneca is fully immersed—learning Amharic, attending Orthodox Tewahedo ceremonies, and sampling Ethiopia’s amazing cuisine.

Next stop: Cairo. Through SIPA’s Study Abroad program, Seneca will continue his journey at the American University in Cairo (AUC)—studying Arabic and international affairs alongside former diplomats and policy leaders.

Seneca’s 7-month experience reflects his commitment to engaged, transnational, and locally grounded learning on the continent. 🌍✈️📚
