Research Fellow Positions at Makerere Institute of Social Research, Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda

October 15, 2015

Makerere Institute of Social Research will be making two hires, a Research Fellow and a Senior Research Fellow, in early 2016. A Research Fellow must have a PhD + 2 published articles in peer reviewed journals by the time of application. A Senior Research Fellow requires a PhD + 4 published articles in peer reviewed journals.

The MISR program is structured as an inter-disciplinary doctorate around four clusters: social and political theory, culture, history and political economy. All fellows teach half time (2 courses a year) and have half time for research. The academic year runs from early January to end August.

MISR is currently seeking fellows who can teach political theory (both premodern and modern), and political economy (history of economic theory, international finance, the agrarian question, late industrialization).

Those interested are requested to send a CV with publications to:

Those short-listed will be invited for interviews, either at the ASA meeting in San Diego, November 19-20 or at Columbia University, in the early part of December.
