Juneteenth Outdoor Fest

June 13, 2023
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
America/New_York
Haven Plaza, Haven Avenue between Fort Washington Avenue and 169th Street

Juneteenth is a federal holiday and as you know has been designated an official University Holiday this year and moving forward.  The holiday is celebrated on the 19th of June to commemorate the union troops’ arrival in Galveston, Texas, in 1865, where they began enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation and informed enslaved African Americans that they were free. Learn more about Juneteenth.

In recognition of Juneteenth, CUIMC’s African, Black and Caribbean Employee Resource Group (ERG) invites you to join us on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Haven Plaza for our Juneteeth Outdoor Fest.

Enjoy live music, sweet treats, and giveaways. Come and learn more about the history of Juneteenth and its significance. Treats and giveaways are limited. We will also have (2) live Dance Demonstrations at 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

All are welcome to attend.  Registration is not required to join.
