How New Lines Is Reimagining Journalism from the Global South

Columbia Journalism School students are invited to attend this open session of the Conflict & OSINT Reporting Course on April 18, 2023, featuring editors from New Lines Magazine. 

New Lines is a global affairs magazine specializing in longform essays, cultural reportage, political storytelling, journalism of ideas, and history of the present, with a particular focus on the Global South. Newlines Editorial Director Rasha Elass (CJS ‘05), Africa Editor Kwangu Liwewe, South Asia editor Surbhi Gupta (CJS '22), and North Africa editor Erin Clare Brown will come to the journalism school to speak to students about the magazine’s mission, the kinds of stories it seeks, and how students can pitch the publication.
