Event Description: Cameroonian writer Hemley Boum's novels explore how exile deconstructs the passing on of ideas, from village to city, continent to continent, culture to culture. She looks at what happens when we leave the place where our connections and memory are established, settle down elsewhere and reinvent ways of communicating and passing on. In appropriating these border spaces, we inhabit several geographies that exist both physically and internally.
