Join us on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 12:00pm – 1:15pm for a workshop entitled - Cracking the Code on Mental Health: Unpacking Cultural Stigma & Care-Seeking Behavior of Staff

During this workshop, participants will be empowered to:

  • Explore the impacts of social identities and culture on the care-seeking behaviors and mental health of historically marginalized staff and workers 
  • Discuss how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) fuel mental health, positive cultural identity, and psychological safety at work.
  • Build a toolkit of strategies to destigmatize mental illness, encourage help-seeking behavior, and normalize the utilization of existing wellness resources at work. 

This event is hosted by CUIMC’s African, Black, and Caribbean (ABC) Employee Resource Group in collaboration with Columbia School of Nursing’s Office of Diversity & Cultural Affairs and CUIMC's Department of Psychiatry Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

This discussion will be facilitated by Kyrah Altman, who is the fulltime CEO and Co-founder of Let’s Empower Advocate and Do (LEAD) Inc. LEAD is the industry leader in proactive and tailored mental health education for camps, sports teams, schools, and companies.

All Columbia affiliates are welcome to attend.
